Berlin! Berlin!

On our short trip to Berlin commencing right after Paris, we stayed at a beautiful, design-oriented hotel called Das Stue. It was built by architect Emil Schaudt, inspired by Danish classicism, with interior design and artistic direction of the public spaces by Patricia Urquiola. Housed in the former Danish Embassy, it was centrally located in between East and West Berlin in the Embassy district, and just 15 minutes from the Berlin Tegal Airport. We had such a wonderful stay with really amiable staff, amazing food (restaurants with Michelin-star chef Paco Pérez), and just so much eye candy with the interior design and details throughout.

It was my first trip to Berlin and two days were definitely not enough. The abundance of coffee shops and the coolest stores and galleries scattered all of the city were an absolute joy for me. Mitte was our favorite neighborhood to explore, a pretty vast area of shopping with the more mass clothing brands down to the smaller local boutiques selling books, paper and design goods. A special thank you to Mr & Mrs Smith for hosting our stay at Das Stue (they have the best collection of hotels), and ah Berlin—we will be back!
