We had the pleasure of staying at the stunning JW Marriott Los Cabos this past Christmas, and was thrilled to stay at the Venice Resort property on this leg of the trip to Italy. Designed by Italian architect Matteo Thun and just a little over two years old, it was a delight that it was on its own private island called the Isola delle Rose. Tranquil and serene, every morning we were greeted with dewy fresh air, as we headed to the Cucina Daily Restaurant for the breakfast buffet (and the assortment was fresh and plenty!). When we wanted to head into town, the shuttle service picked us up (it ran every half hour and was a 15 minute trip to St. Mark's Square) and we were able to experience a boat ride everyday. We had dinner at Sagra Rooftop Restaurant one evening, where we had the most delicious calamari, fish, and pasta. The rooftop infinity pool also looked really lovely, and I'm sure it would be a breathtaking experience when the weather is warmer.
Our La Maisonette Loft Suite was minimal, yet beautifully designed. The bi-level loft-style really came in handy when either the hubby or I needed to stay up and work, and the other slept upstairs. While we dream of living in a duplex apartment at home in New York, we were happy to experience this in Venice! The GOCO Spa on property was also an experience in itself, with heated indoor and outdoor vitality pools, sauna, biosauna, and hammam.
