A short ferry ride (about 40 minutes) from Venice to the little island of Burano where we spent a few hours exploring one afternoon. The weather was cloudy, but the bright colors of the town really added a bit of cheer to our day. We didn't have time to stop by Murano (on the same ferry route to Burano, and much closer to Venice), but it's another small colorful island on the canal where glass-making is prominent, and hope to get a chance to visit next time.
